Betsy Straka, MS CCC-SLP
Having been born and raised in Colorado, I naturally went to the University of Colorado in Boulder where I received Bachelor’s degrees in Communication Disorders and Speech Science and in Psychology. I then went to Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma where I earned a Master’s of Science degree in Communication Disorders. I established Straka Speech in 1980 and have watched it grow and grow. When not working or tending to the office I enjoy reading, traveling, skiing and spending time with my family.
Pamela K. Varner, MA CCC-SLP
I grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico and graduated from New Mexico State University receiving my B.A. in Communicative Disorders in 1981 and my M.A. in Speech Pathology in 1983. I have been a practicing clinician for 35 years in the states of Texas, California and Colorado. My areas of interest are remediation of articulation disorders, oral motor and planning issues that interfere with sound development and affect feeding and expressive/receptive language disorders and delays. My free time is spent cheering on the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies, spending time with my husband, 3 adult children and their families, and getting together with friends.
Rebecca B. Smith, MA CCC-SLP
I had the pleasure of receiving my Bachelor's degree in Speech & Language Disabilities from Elmira College and my Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Western Michigan University. I enjoy hiking, going to the movies, playing cards/board games, bringing my dog to the dog park, and spending quality time with my friends and family.
Lori C. Genrich, MA CCC-SLP
I attended Colorado State University where I obtained my bachelors degree in Communication Disorders and then went on to University of Colorado-Boulder where I earned my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Spending time with my husband, three growing children, family and friends, hiking, skiing, walking our pup, and cheering our kids on at their volleyball and baseball games are some of the things I enjoy when I’m not at work.
Morgan McConnaughhay, MS CCC-SLP
I earned my Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees at Western Illinois University. I have worked in the hospital, school, and private practice settings in Illinois, Alaska, and Colorado. I have worked with a wide variety of clients and have learned a variety of therapy strategies from working in very different areas of the country. I really enjoy working with school aged children on language and articulation. I live in Colorado Springs with my husband, Tom and 2 dogs- a beagle/dachshund mix named Reese and a border collie/lab named Ada. In my free time I like spending time with family and friends, hiking, and traveling. I also enjoy cross stitching and jigsaw puzzles.
Holly Estabrook Doyle, MS CCC-SLP
I attended Worcester State College in Massachusetts where I received a bachelors degree in Communication Sciences/Disorders in 2004 and a masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2006. I have been working at Straka Speech since 2008. In my free time, I enjoy staying busy with my two boys, hiking, skiing, cooking, and watching reality tv.
Elena Fichera, MA CCC-SLP
I hold a Bachelor’s degree and Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from New Mexico State University. I completed my graduate program with a concentration in English as a Second Language assessment and intervention issues. My experience with clients from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds has helped shape my family-centered approach to intervention. I live in Castle Rock, where I enjoy town festivals, spending time with family and friends, playing tennis, biking and finding new trails to hike in the beautiful state of Colorado!
